The Pace of Consuming
Yo! Your resident Henjin-sennin here for a dose of wisdom!
Today I would like to experiment a bit. I want to try my hand in making blog entries about inane things that pop up in my head from time to time, perverted thoughts aside. If you would be so kind as to look towards the title of the blog entry you might understand what I'm talking about. I like to think about things that others may find a waste of time, as you can see.
Now, what do I mean by "Pace of Consuming" you might ask? Well, have you ever asked someone how much anime/manga they are watching/reading at any one time? You might get mixed results, such as; "I'm watching, like, 6 right now man. Why do you ask dude?" or "Um...let's see...1? *pained smile*" and of course "I watch a shit ton at one time! I've watched over 500 anime altogether already! I'm watching at least 20 right now! I can't get enough! Not that it's that much though, I mean, that's nothing compared to..." etc.
Do you get where I'm going with this? There are many people that consume this medium at varying degrees. Some consume slower than a turtle eating a head of lettuce, and other's consume faster than a starving shounen protagonist after a long grueling bout of screaming and flexing their muscles. Now let's get to the part where I was trying to make a point...*ahem*...

Anime: Soul Eater/Soul Eater Repeat Show

Soul Eater ending 2 is one of my favorite ending songs in anime for teaching viewers what friendship really is between two people with different thoughts.
Yeah, yeah I know! Soul Eater has had TWO quotes in this blog already which focused on fear and the other being a fun April Fools joke. However, I had to post this one up as it means more to me than the majority. If I wasn't so dead set on a particular quote for #100 this one would of took the spot. Simple as that.
Soul Eater! It focuses on Maka Albarn and her weapon partner Soul fighting off witches while attending an academy where they train to fight against the upcoming threat of madness.
Its a pretty fun comedic action anime! Actually, its the anime world I would want to live in if I had to choose. There is something really cool to me about knowing you can fuse your own soul with another to fight while being absorbed into a Halloween shaped world. Watch the first season of 25 episodes and then jump over to the manga since the content diverges.
Take it from somebody who has been alone for a huge part of his life..finding the right friends is hard. I've had to walk a very lone wolf path by myself because I've had to deal with rejection so much. My younger self was a very clumsy shy kid who just wanted to be like anyone else ^^. Through time I was eventually bullied, harassed, attacked a lot, and so depressed to even think for a while that something was wrong with me as a result. Ironically it was being rejected by my classmates that pushed me into my studies more and believe in my dreams(true romance was my first one that started in the 8th grade haha). I didn't want to be like my classmates nor did I really care what they thought. I've mentioned this before but..my goal especially as a kid was to study hard to make my single mother proud who sacrificed so much to give me an education. I know its difficult to think this way but while school was most definitely a hell for me...it was my biggest blessing in growth.
Being rejected by my classmates gave me a better mindset to focus on my future and realize the definition of "true friend". I want friends who will accept me for the emotion driven person that I am! This was more of a realization in my heart when I became successful in theater and "earned respect" from my haters. At that point, it disgusted me to learn how having impressive accomplishments was swaying people over than just being a good person! It made me so mad to think how many have had to go through the same hell as me even though they were wonderful individuals that just lacked a theater award.
This is why I don't let go of true friends no matter what because my path has only encountered a handful of those who really understand my soul. I know EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a friend and I'll always lend a loving hand to anybody who is crying alone thinking something must be wrong with them. Let me be clear:
Don't let the opinions of others sway you into thinking you must be lame when your potential haters just don't realize how shining of a gem you really are. YES, I bet you have made mistakes too! So what? We all have grim skeletons in our closets and I tend to repeat my errors a bunch of times before I can learn. We're all built the same way when it comes to having to face embarrassing things in order to grow. Keep being who you are because you'll meet the right people that will appreciate you for you : ).

So Much For Weekly
The following section is a post I made back in October 2015, but never posted, enjoy.
I haven't watched any Anime in like a week.
I don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing, because the reason I haven't is because the internet is too slow to stream video, even at 360p.
In place of this, I have instead been playing Visual Novels, I have completed a single branch of CLANNAD and have played Katawa Shojou for ~1.5 hours
Now that's out of way, I can discuss more recent events. I finally figured out how to add re-watches! I'm almost embarrassed it took me this long, but nonetheless, at least now my profile has a more accurate time guage.

Why Not Watch a Show Which Breaks the Norm?
Last April, I watched Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu after when the series finished airing. After finishing the entire season it made me realize that there are actually shows who don't follow the norm of most shows these days. It made me wonder, why does underrated shows have better quality?
During the Winter 2016 season, I watched Erased, Dimension W, and Dagashi Kashi because those were the only shows I think were good to watch and they were the most talked about. I didn't mind watching Rakugo at that time, when that season ended and Spring 2016 has started, I stopped watching this season and watched that instead. Comparing that to what I watched last season, how come Rakugo didn't get the recognition it deserved? Maybe it's because of the target audience since it IS a josei anime and not that much anime like this are out there.
Now we are in the Spring 2016 season, the only underrated show in my opinion is Joker Game. I think to this day, most people would rather watch a show with a certain trope they're fine with and they will watch it until it ends. When the show they watched ends, they will wait for another show with the same or different trope or wait for the second season of it.
What people should do is try to watch something different for once and enjoy what anime truly means as a whole. If they keep watching the same show with the same tropes, they will never see the true beauty of anime. I mean everyone has their own preferences right? I don't mean to tell you in the face that you should watch these shows right now, but you should try to watch a show which breaks the norm you know.
