What can possibly go wrong? This page may turn into a giant heap of everything I've been holding inside me, and you can become very bored of this heap, or, maybe, I will start losing my control and write more, and more, and more, since I'm a little bit graphomaniac. Anyway, to prevent further cluttering of my MAL page, I've decided to write all information about me in this post. Here it goes. Complete with random Sakura Trick animation. PERSONAL INFORMATION
  • My full name is Sergei Igorevich Titarev. I'm from Russia, Moscow. I prefer to be called by my nickname, except if you know me IRL. My birthday is February 28, 1992.
  • In terms of personality I am Chaotic Good: really trying to be laid-back and relaxed, but, being a choleric subject, I am very nervous, antsy and sometimes can be aggressive and violent in achieving a goal. Yet I'm actually kind and helpful to everyone (except to people that I hate). I am not very social, but have nothing against new acquaintances or friends.
    • My job is a scientific researcher, currently working on Staphylococci bacteria genus. Also I am a post-graduate student specializing in biotechnology. My work is interesting and I like it, but scientists in Russian scientific research institutes are barely paid any money. Very soon I'm gonna end this circus and escape into a biotechnology company, but if I'll have a chance to work on Ph.D paper, that may be interesting... Or not.
    • Second speciality is Russian-English technical translator. I am fluent in written English, but somewhat awkward in speaking. I am also trying to learn Portuguese and Japanese, but can't decide, which one I should drill harder. Esta é uma grande confusão para mim, しかし、私はそれを解決します。Честно-честно, я со всем разберусь!
    • I am a somewhat sporty person, yet I can't boast perfect shape at all. Still, I like skiing at the night, swimming, and also cycling everywhere I can reach. Also, I can do 100 push-ups in a single row, and I really want to do at least 15 pull-ups with a straight grip.
    • I am a pianist with a music school diploma. But I don't like piano too much, instead of it I adore bandolim (Brazilian mandolin). I also play classical guitar, string bass, percussion, accordion and other various keyboards. Can play cello, drums and clarinet, but only for a little.
    • Favourite game genres: Roguelikes, Adventures, TBS. I prefer gameplay freedom and dislike very story-oriented games.
    • Favourite music genres: Choro, Avant-Prog, Trip-Hop, Minimalism, Dark Cabaret. Sometimes I listen to Dark Folk, Psychedelia, Musique Concrete, Bal-musette, various jazz, easy listening, Balkan gypsy music. I don't like rock music and electric guitars particularly, with some exceptions. My most love is Choro, the brazilian instrumental music. In my opinion, it is the best genre that ever existed, so thumbs up for Bando de Macambira, Jacob do Bandolim, Nicolas Krassik, Paulo Moura and, of course, Pixinguinha.
    • Favourite bands are Choro Club, Detektivbyrån, Current 93, Portishead and Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Гражданская Оборона, a Soviet/Russian band).
    • Favourite composers are Michael Nyman, Agustin Barrios, Pascal Comelade, early Yann Tiersen (before 2008), and I like some works of Brian Eno, Jean-Jacques Perrey and Mike Oldfield.
    • Favourite anime genres: Adventure, Sci-Fi, Dieselpunk, Historical, Slice of life, Yuri.
    • I am very, very, and I mean it - REALLY fond of genki characters, as well as of energetic and cheerful people. Treasure them, they boost everything around them with energy. I wish I could be more genki, but for me it is really difficult.
    • Also, I love cats, catgirls and everything that resembles a cat.
    • The people I hate most are: neo-Nazi, priests, feminists, oligarchs, pessimists, sadists and Russophobes.
    • And last, but not least: don't call me an otaku. It is an insult to me. ABOUT ANIME I try to rate anime seriously, without any indulgence. I hate pretentious pseudo-philosophical series and movies, unless their meaning is openly stated. Things I like in anime
      Things I hate in anime
P.S. Please, be my friend. Random requests are accepted, but first just write me something.
