Anime is a very shallow show made in japan, anime has no plot, anime always ignore character development, anime likes trainwrecks, anime likes to make plot holes without explanation, Anime is Hyperactively Shallow. I`m not an Otaku/Fanboy/Elitist/Hater or whatever. i`m a person who always laugh at shitty anime with pleasure because some bad anime can be enjoyable to watch. I'm a Completionist. I don`t trust people in the internet. I trust my own Intuition. Things i like about anime 1. Cute Girls 2. Flat Chested Girls (Flat is justice) 3. Emotional involvement 4. Fantasy Setting or Sci-fi setting 5. Witty Dialogue that can be funny 6. Good Cliches that were done right. 7. Moe 8. Unexpected/Unpredictable story 9. Lesbians 10. Douchebag characters (except that MC from Hidan no Aria) 8. Cartoonish villains 9. Cockblockers 10. CGI (except on cars and mecha) Fact : A lot of people hates modern music because it change and went downhill, the new music is aimed at younger audience. Music is part of Evolution. A lot of Butthurt raging complaining Elitist hates modern anime because of shitty story, generic characters and fanservice, but modern anime got better animation, cute looking characters and it is aimed at Teenager audience. Anime is part of Evolution. Music from the 60-70`s and Anime from the 60-70`s is like Paleozoic Era. Music from the 80-90`s and Anime from the 80-90`s is like Mesozoic Era. Music from the year 2000`s and Anime from the 2000`s is like Cenozoic Era Paleogene period. Music from the year 2010`s and Anime from the 2010`s is like Cenozoic Era Neogene period. Music in the near future is all about Dubstep with Robotic Noises is like Quaternary Period. Anime in the near future is all about Pure Fanservice overload with no sight of story, Very Attractive characters and CGI animation is like Quaternary Period. (Before I start; I'll be talking about the Western anime audience for this blog.) KONICHIWA YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS! You know its been too long since I updated my blog. My last post was about Attack on Titan's popularity drop, and I'll talk about that too in this one. No matter what you say about its story or fans, you cannot argue that Titan has done a lot of financial good for the anime industry. (Thank goodness too, the industry is suffering with the majority of us not paying a single cent on what we watch. Go get a Crunchyroll account, you naked apes!) But was it a good anime? Yes? No? Well, an actual "good" anime is something entirely subjective. Everyone has different opinions, one man's good anime is another's garbage. I can argue infinitely about just how much I hate Sword Art Online yet love Attack on Titan, but that would get me labeled a hypocrite. Because they're both... popular. Very, very popular, they have that in common at least. But here is where I think they're different; I believe Sword Art Online got popular because it has a story that is easily marketable; "Thousands? Stuck in a game? A Video Game?" Video Games and Anime go hand in hand for our geeky culture, its obvious that regardless of its quality, people would buy into it because of its wish fulfillment setting. It appealed to the still-growing Western anime fandom (thanks for licensing Manga/Anime companies like Viz and Funimation respectively) because it is something people could really get into, and it came at the best possible time to the right area and right people. (which is why other "stuck in a game world huuuuuuuu" anime like .hack, which came MUCH earlier, are nowhere near as popular) It helps too that the main character can do anything and gets all the bitches, cause what teenage boy wouldn't want to be Kirito? Conversely, Attack on Titan received popularity because of its atmosphere and direction. In an era where The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and Game of Thrones are on the DVR's of all, (or most cause I hate all that shit) an anime like Attack on Titan would be just as appealing to the large viewer-base of violent program lovers. It has a gritty, dark atmosphere which pulls you in from the beginning with its lack of hope, and "fight for the survival of hummanity" storyline. Tetsuro Araki's emotional direction is splendidly done too, making the tension and suspense in Attack on Titan very easy to get hooked on, especially with how its presented as a story where anyone can, and probably will, die. (In other words, Westerners are fucked up) But both are despised now. Hated. Loathed. The once acclaimed, "Masterpieces" are now on the bottom of everyone's shoes. "They'e both schlock." Yeah? None of you thought that when you were riding they're hype trains. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, YOU CONFORMIST SCORE CHANGERS) What I'm trying to say that a "good" anime is all up to whoever's watching it. SAO and AOT both had hype trains longer than the motherfucking polar express; and they crashed and BURNED, despite their different offerings, for the same reason; "Gah! Its popular! Its all over the internet! Burn it! It sucks!" Yes, they both suck. Wait no, they're both awesome. Actually its neither, yet both at the same time. Because... it all comes down to your opinion. To me, a "good" anime is just that; good. A 7/10. No more, no less. But to me, a Masterpiece, a Brilliant anime is something where you have to actively search for its problems, instead of having them presented to you through a simple viewing. Because make no mistake, theres no such thing as a perfect anime. There's no such thing as a perfect anything. You were born with one eye unevenly placed by nanometers. Or crooked thumbs, moles, or CANCER. Because not even the divine, hellish inter workings of nature can make things perfectly, so why expect something that came from us to be perfect? Just take SAO and AOT for what they are; not masterpieces. Perfect doesn't exist. But a good anime, no, a Brilliant anime, is an anime where those problems are few and far between. A Brilliant anime is something revolutionary for its genre, and its audience. A true masterpiece doesn't imply that it has no flaws; a true masterpiece is something truly exceptional in every way. Brilliant pieces of work like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, (among other examples) that have narratives woven through perfectly intertwined symbolism and character growth, enticing stories and fantastic direction. Those are masterpieces. Yes, they have faults. FMAB has one too many plot device-y characters and Gurren Lagann kicks the fuck out of Future Diary with its Deus ex Machina usage. But they succeed so fantastically at what they set out to do in a narrative, that calling them anything less than Masterpieces would be a disservice. Such is with a person. They may have ADHD. Or maybe they're Blind. But that doesn't shatter their worth as a human being. What they do; say; believe, and how they treat others. That is what makes them Brilliant people, despite their shortcomings. But thats just one man's opinion. At the end of the day; I enjoy dissecting anime too, which means hating something comes to me as quickly as loving something does. I'll never appreciate SAO (among the other thousand people who never will) and I'll never (as long as Isayama doesn't fuck his story up too bad) hate AOT. So, what do you think? After a suggestion on Kissanime home page, i was interested to see what this"young assassin" OVA had in store for me, and the first 10 minutes i was already taken back by the fact that the hour long OVA was actually a porno, that was somehow on KISSANIME!(This being revealed by a quick transition of scenes, into what most people would call "suprise sex") However after looking at the comment section to see other viewers reaction to the unexpected, full on sex scene, i found that the sex scenes are not the premise of the series and can just be skipped to avoid "unexpected boners". So after watching the OVA i was surprised that i was interested for more, and that it was able to make jump out of my seat in awe & shock(and im not talking about the surprise sex aha). But i wondered if the linked "Mezzo Forte" would live up to my expectations(as we all know sequels and remakes can be terrible). Now, just after finishing Mezzo, i have had to write this blog about how a potential porno(and rated Rx by MyAnimeList) could be so funny and extremely entertaining with the characters it has, as most porn scripts have as much character diversity as a pizza guy and a cable man, but Mezzo(especially) and Kite have characters you want to see more(Just without the surprise anime sex-if its not your thing)
