ZettaiBlog 35: Captain of the Mothership

Haruka: Hello, Zettai. Did you choose your next girl? Hopefully she’s fun to tease♥. Yeah, I did. I don’t think she’d let you tease her tho. Haruka: Oh my, why’s that? She’d either play along or nuke you from orbit, depending of how rough you were. Haruka: Sounds fun♥! Chiaki: Alright, you definitely aren’t my sister… Haruka: So, who is she? Chiaki: This week’s mother is… Haruka: She’s the true mother of Chrono and adoptive mother of Fate and technically Erio. Approved♥. Chiaki: Another child named Erio? What are the odds… Great! Can she now come in? Haruka: Hold on a second♥ *enters Lindy’s waiting room and some sounds and moans are heard* She’s ready♥. Chiaki: Huh-oh… Come in! Lindy: Yes… *walks in wearing a copy barely her size of Fate’s Barrier Jacket, which makes it really tight and shows off her body* This is embarrassing… Wow, she really looks like Fate now! Haruka: Now show the best part♥. Lindy: Is… Is this really necessary? Haruka: Of course♥. Lindy: Well then… *turns around, revealing the bottom is a tiny thing barely visible between her cheeks* Sigh… W-Whoa! Now she REALLY looks like Fate! Chiaki: Hey, don’t drool on the floor I just cleaned, idiot! *Fujiokas Zettai* Ow! But thanks for the wake-up, Chiaki. You’re always BEARING with me. Chiaki: Don’t make me throw Fujioka at you again. Lindy: C-can we get on with this? Haruka: Right, get on writing, Zettai♥! Yes, yes. Head Hair Lindy’s hair is interesting. First is green, which seems a little less common than other “anime” colors. Sadly it’s a lighter shade than I’d like, but oh well. Second and more importantly, it’s on a ponytail, but one I actually like! Seriously, the combination of long hair and her ponytail being slightly “fanned” makes Lindy look pretty nice. Sadly in StrikerS we see her with a different and more bland ponytail, boo! It’s only in one picture frame however, so fanart sticks mostly to her better ponytail. The bangs aren’t anything special but not bad either; I like the “hair horns” on front. Also note how her bangs leave those marks on her forehead on plain sight, clearly it was meant to have that part emphasized. Apparently Lindy was first designed to be a fairy and hence the mark, but when changed into a human they stuck somehow. Anyway Lindy also used to have shorter hair when she was younger if this one sketch is any indication, glad she let it grow. Overall Lindy’s hair isn’t mind-blowing but it’s nicer than it seems on paper. Grade: B- Eyes Her eyes are green, a light shade of green no less. In one hand it matches her hair and that’s cool, in the other it’s hardly one of my fav hair colors. Overall okay I guess. It’s also a tareme, which sure, it fits her personality and also her former fairy-ness, but it’s not very appealing. I mean, Nanoha and Fate having it, sure, but an adult woman like Lindy needs slightly narrower eyes! Luckily she does slant them sometimes; in fact there is one official image of her with fairly narrow eyes and a serious face that looks great. Otherwise there’s nothing to remark, she doesn’t even wear glasses. Grade: B- Haruka: Well, not everyone can have eyes as great as mine♥. Lindy: Miss Haruka, your eyes are green too. Haruka: But Zettai prefers my “brown eye” anyway♥! Chiaki: I thought last month was over… Body Build Lindy has a decent build I’d say. Despite being a super-famous franchise that has been running for a long, long time, she has no official measurements for anything, not even height. Well, her fairy form for Toy Box is about 30 cm tall, but that’s useless. Anyway she seems to be slightly tall, as she’s bigger than 14-year old Chrono and almost has his height when he’s 24, and she also is a bit bigger than Amy. It’s not too much tho, and given her position as a captain this makes some sense. Physically she seems average as well, she has a somewhat notable bust size but not by much, and she doesn’t really have any fanservice other than this ViViD image of damn near every female bathing together. Said image shows she has some nice legs as well, so there’s that. It helps her costumes emphasize them, but more on that later. The rest of her body doesn’t look bad, and also she’d be about 45 years old in the aforementioned but she still remains in shape, though this isn’t surprising in anime. Overall Lindy looks rather nice for someone her age. Grade: B Lindy: No wonder you’re staring at me so much… Hey, I can’t help it, this costume is so great. Fate looks awesome in it and so do you, Miss Lindy! Haruka: Something tells me Zettai wants some parent & child rice bowl♥. Chiaki: Oooh, me too! I’m hungry! I’ll go get the eggs! She doesn’t mean that, Chiaki. Chiaki: Huh? Lindy: I think this girl is too young to know that… Butt Main problem is she doesn’t really show it directly. However, we can infer from her posture in the above pic and other shots of her from behind her rump must be at least decent, so there’s that. Furthermore fanart seems to focus on her ass and make it sexy a tad more than average, which no doubt is basically via ass-ociation with Fate. But alas, because Nanoha denies its moms their fanservice we’ll never know if this is close to reality or not. Grade: C Haruka: Well, you just saw it, so extra-officially what is the verdict? Almost as good as Fate’s! Lindy: R-Really? *flusters* I’m honored… I think… Clothes Lindy has honestly not much variety on her costumes, but at least she has decent choices. Her regular costume, which she also had in Toy Box, is basically a dark blue military uniform of shorts with a jacket, a skirt open in the side, shoes and a mystery white clothing. I call it “mystery” because it looks like it could be pants, and they likely ARE pants, but not only that’d make her the only female military member in the entire franchise to wear pants in Toy Box it looks more like white pantyhose, and quite a few pervy fanarts actually make it white pantyhose. Either way it goes well with her uniform at last. Aside from that there are her casual clothes, which are a brown sleeveless jacket, a white shirt, a dark brown tight skirt, an intermediate brown stole and, yes, a blue-ish PANTYHOSE! Even if her military uniform doesn’t have one she has it here! There are some other costumes, like the sweater and such from that one StrikerS frame, but none that she wears much. Considering her status as a side-character Lindy does okay overall, though nothing ground-breaking. Grade: B- Mind Personality Lindy is the Captain of the Arthra or Asura, a ship of the Dimensional Administration Bureau or Time-Space Administration Bureau. Yeah, this show needs more consistent naming schemes. Anyway we first and mainly see her following her duty as a captain and trying to get back the Jewel Seeds, helping Nanoha on her quest. She’s quickly set as competent but a little silly, as she drinks green tea with sugar which is totally not how Japan does it. Oh, she admires Japanese culture; it’s a Japanese series after all. It’s never Norwegian culture. Still, despite her ditzy moments Lindy is a very reliable lady and her help was invaluable in triumphing in all seasons. In A’s Lindy didn’t do as much, but we learned about her past and her dead husband, as well as her relation with the Book of Darkness the plot is focused on. Sadly the movie cut a good chunk of plot and thus screwed out anyone that wasn’t Nanoha and Fate. Because they really needed the extra focus I reckon. The TV series itself is fine tho. Aside from that Lindy was also relevant by becoming Fate’s adoptive mother and helping her warm up slowly to people in some really nice scenes. Sadly in StrikerS she was a bit character, but StrikerS is when Seven Arcs suffered from Seven Arcs Syndrome, also known as Bleach Disease, and they started having a gazillion characters with little focus for most of them. Sigh. Besides the anime, one of the Sound Stages shows Lindy’s kindness by looking for a loophole so Fate could talk with Nanoha in real time as she was forbidden from doing so. Go webcams with slight delays. Overall Lindy is a very nice woman, a good captain and an ideal mother, which deserves recognition I think. Grade: B Libido As I mentioned before Lindy is a widow, most unfortunately. It’s very clear she really loved Clyde and still does love him very much. Devotion is always good, though this is a particularly depressing case of it, thus I won’t focus much on the subject. The only “flaw” with this is on the rare cases doujinshi feature Lindy, well, her couple is always odd. Still, Lindy is a good loving woman and there’s that, even if she doesn’t seem like a pervert or anything like that. No, don’t say she is for being a teen mom, shut up. Grade: C+ Haruka: I’ll make her perverted for you, Zettai! *fondles Lindy* Lindy: Stop! *squirms* Chiaki: Why most dommy girls are bisexual…? Age Once again we meet with a low ranking, though one that will be the usual in this month. Anyway Lindy is 31 years old in the first two series and 41 by the time of StrikerS. That makes her 45 and 47 on ViViD and Force respectively, not she does much in either. It goes without saying that makes her kind of old for my preferences. As an aside her age means she got pregnant at about 16-17 years old, go figure. Then again Nanoha’s mom was about 13 when she got pregnant of Kyouya, so maybe the head of the franchise has a thing for teen moms, that’d explain Nanoha and Fate adopting Vivio and Fate trying to adopt Erio beforehand. Or said head is an arts person. Either way this must be the longest “Age” entry I’ve written, go me. Grade: D Chiaki: Pregnant at the age Haruka-neesama is now… Haruka: Oh, honey, glad you called me Oneesama again♥. Lindy: I’d prefer if we changed the topic… Voice Aya Hisakawa has a nice voice that gets Lindy’s cute and kind personality that can be serious at times pretty well. No special speech patters or anything here. As a note, Aya Hisakawa seems to be pretty associated to magical girl series as she’s done before Sailor Mercury and Cure Moonlight. Also Kero-chan, apparently. Grade: B Total: 58 (C+) Lindy: Oh, dear… That’s a pretty low score… Chiaki: Low? NARU scored higher! By one point, but still! Right, it’s unfortunate. I like Lindy much more than Naru, trust me, But sometimes scores end a bit silly. Lindy: If only I was young like my daughter… H-hey, Miss Lindy! Don’t say that! You look just like your daughter! Lindy: You only say that for my clothes! Well, that too. Chiaki: That’s all Zettai’s fault for being a pervert that likes lolis. I still need to remind him daily I’m not wearing a red backpack for him! Haruka: Nonsense, I know Zettai likes all kind of women♥. *rubs her huge ass against Lindy’s as a tease of sorts* Well? Whoa! *stares* Definitely! But I still like lolis best! Chiaki: Predictable… Anyway, next time we’ll cover a mother jam-packed with moe, so look forward to it!
