Minor/Background Character of the Month: San Watanabe

Welcome to my first blog ever made on this site. The purpose of this blog is to spotlight background/minor characters you forgot about or that even existed in the series. I will post different characters from different series each month. Qualifications for a character to make it to this blog. 1. Has to have have less than 50 favorites on MAL. 2. Has to have a minor role on the series, not a significant one. The minor character of this month of June is... Source: Another Wikia http://another.wikia.com/wiki/San_Watanabe Brief Info of the Character (Minor Spoiler Warning): Watanabe is in a generic friend trio we see in almost every anime. Characters in this trio can sometimes have a significant role, but most of the time they work as background characters. Anyways she's one of those girls who have a serious and mature personality despite their age. She was rarely involve with Koichi or Izumi's (despite sitting behind her) group unlike characters such as Yuuya Mochizuki (Koichi's Group) or Takako Sugiura (Izumi's Gorup). However, she was briefly seen with Yumi Ogura who was part of Izumi's Group. She was also Yumi's roommate. She later was knocked over by a chandelier (along with other 3 students) suring the burning inn episode. She was later saved by Chibiki and was seen on his car. That was her last appearance as a minor character, but she still survived which means something in Another. Would a larger role worked for the character in the series?: She would have had a significant role in Izumi's group. However, that would mean that she would had died before the final episode. What's interesting about this character is that she shares the same Seiyuu as Esdeath. The only thing is that Akame ga Kill and Another aired at different years. Nevertheless, Satomi Akesaka did a good job with Esdeath. Since Watanabe had a boyish personality, they could had made her a comic relief character that always hit on girls. She wuld still be a minor character, but a more interesting one. Would a character similar to her be a good choice for ANOTHER series? First of all by "another" I mean another series than Another. This is so confusing already. Anyways, as I mentioned earlier she could be a serious character with a goofy side of hitting on other girls. A character like her will most likely be fitting in slice of life anime. She already has the looks for a competent SOL anime character. Why not give her a push*? Oh wait she almost got her push, but other two received it instead. *-Push is a wrestling term that describes the action of the wrestling bookers to make one of their talent more popular and significant to the company. Moreover, give them title runs similar to give a minor character a significant role. There you have it. The Minor Character who is often the low-quality animation character, The NPC, the jobber, the forgotten one. At least she wasn't the one to bite the dust. Next month I will be choosing a minor character from Hibike! Euphonium. This series had a lot of interesting background characters, but only one will make it to the blog.
