Adjusting to her new life up on the surface..Squid Girl's plans for domination still remain delayed! This time she teams up with the local life guard to get a new recruit for the squidvasion! Afterwards, Squid Girl learns the value of a birthday and later meets Sanae Nagatsuki who takes a very "interesting" liking to her..

Saviors of the Ocean UNITE!
Last time Squid Girl was adopted by the Aizawa family while she boldly announces her eventual take over the world in order to free the ocean from the evil humans! Now we got life guard lessons, birthday knowledge, and the definition of creeper!
Act 1 titled Wait a squid, aren't you on my side? has Squid girl meet Gorō Arashiyama who is the local life guard! She misunderstands his title and believes that Goro is a savior of the ocean just like her. However, this leads into her realizing his role as an actual life guard by stalking him. I thought this act was pretty ok as it definitely had its share of funny moments. I think just seeing Squid Girl trying to comprehend our actual roles relating to the ocean alone is pretty funny.

Well I mean..she did put like 100 candles on that cake..
We then progress into act 2.."Up for a Squid Celebration" which is all about Squid Girl demanding her own birthday celebration after witnessing one. This was very cute because it really reflects a lot on her human traits in relation to just wanting to be loved by others. The jokes for the most part were good like Squid Girl accidentally sneezing ink all over the cake or the fact that she can hold like eight firework lighters with her tentacles! One line that made me very curious is when she is asked about her real age with no actual response. This leads me to wonder if Squid Girl is not actually a child but an ocean deity of sorts.

Squid Girl encounters her first MAL creeper..
So then finally there is act 3 "Wanna play with this squid?" which is HILARIOUS. Talk about two little nice stories in the beginning but then end it out on so many creepy tones that get you chuckling. Squid Girl finds herself befriending a girl named Sanae who seems like a perfectly nice normal young girl. Oh. Man. What this episode implies is pretty......wow. I mean, they are kids so its kind of shocking. To sum it up: Squid Girl discovers Sanae has an insanely creepy obsession over her! This leads to Squid Girl being forced to COSPLAY in front of Sanae so she can take really creepy photos of her for a "personal collection". ....Yeah. I'm not kidding. WHAT. I was laughing so hard but my mind was like "Wait..but then..oh my god". You really gotta feel sorry for our main character to even go through that..
The episode as a whole started out pretty ok but then really left a big impression in a funny way. You really can't read the minds of these characters and its so well crafted for that reason. Pretty good episode overall!
