Chapter 484 opens with the Ezra waking up after the battle with Neinhart. The Fiore mages explain that that they have retaken Hargeon while Jellal is pushing out the remaining soldiers. In addition, Dimaria has been taken captive. The Fairy Tail members at Hargeon have decided they will return the guild to get an update of the war. At the Fairy Tail Guild, Brandish has decided to negotiate with August for Fairy Tail in hope that he will discontinue his impending attack against Fiore. While the majority of the guild is leery of Brandish, Lucy believes in her and accepts the offer. The story pans back to the snowy northern region. Irene and her team are travelling through the Zonia Mountains. Irene gives a brief story about the history of the mountains. On the battlefield, Gajeel's team is rescuing Sabretooth and Blue Pegasus while fighting off the Alverez soldiers. Suddenly all the snow completely vanishes due to Irene's magic. Sting and Rogue explain with dread that there are three monsters on the enemy’s side. The chapter ends with Gajeel exclaiming, "We’ve got six monsters over here."
This was a buildup chapter to the fight between Irene's forces and Gajeel's team. Nothing groundbreaking happened in the chapter. We got to see the aftermath of the Hargeon battle, which included a ton of fan service. Tits and ass everywhere. Kagura even kisses Ezra to return the favor for kissing/resuscitating Jellal. I don't know why. And we get Dimaria tied up with her clothes in tatters. Does Hiro have a thing for binding and torture porn?
Brandish has essentially flipped sides without joining Fairy Tail and has decided to negotiate with August on Fiore's behest. I'm sure we can all see that the negotiations will go sideways and Natsu, Lucy, and Brandish will battle with August. If this doesn't happen, I will be very shocked. I just hope that August lives up to the hype. Please live up to the hype! I would love the battle to require someone like Gildarts to enter the fray. I believe this is the best case scenario.
Now for team Gajeel. With Irene, Bradman, and Rahkeid, being present at the battlefield there should be a massive confrontation. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the power of friendship won't make an appearance. I can see Bradman and Rahkeid being defeated but if Irene is as strong as August is hyped to be then the good guys should ultimately lose. On numbers alone the there are two headliners for Team Gajeel, Gajeel and Mirajane. Elfman maybe be able to take down the weakest spariggan, while Levy and Lissanna tag team against Irene's lackeys. Leaving Gajeel and Mirajane taking on the strongest left. While everyone wins their battle, I would guess Gajeel and Panther would attempt to fight Irene and get wrecked. Then Irene would take out everyone else as well. It will be interesting to see the extent of her power nonetheless.
