Skills
Class Skills
Skill: Magic Resistance Description: Grants protection against magical effects. Differently from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Rank: B Effect: Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for her to be affected. Skill: Riding Description: The expertise to ride animals and vehicles. Rank: A Effect: All creatures but those of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast-rank can be used as mounts. This rank is high enough to have aptitude for the Rider Class.
Personal Skills
Skill: Bravery Description: The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination. Not usable under the effects of Mad Enhancement. Rank: A+ Effect: Saber is immune to any mental interference below the level of High Thaumaturgy. Even High Thaumaturgy level mental interference will be reduced in potency and duration. Bonus effect of increasing melee damage. Skill: Charisma Description: The natural talent to command an army. Increases the ability of allies during group battles. A rare talent, and an ability inherent to Servants of the Saver class. It is said that a rank of B in this skill is sufficient to lead a nation as its King. Rank: C Effect: Saber was so popular that the citizens favored her over the emperor himself, and even enemy troops deserted over to her, though the latter is caused by her fearful reputation. Skill: Chinese Martial Arts Description: a Chinese rationality. A value that measures one's mastery of the martial arts that made becoming one with the universe as its objective. Its difficulty to learn is of the highest level and, unlike other Skills, it is at A Rank that one is at a level where he is said to have finally "learned it". Rank: A+++ Effect: At this point, one is a master among masters. Skill: Military Tactics Description: Tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where many are mobilized. Rank: B Effect: Saber is among the greatest generals. She can assess battle conditions quickly with limited information and enact simple strategies without needing to plan. Bonus modifiers are provided during use of one's own Noble Phantasm or when dealing with an enemy Anti-Army Noble Phantasm. Skill: Nature of a Loyal Spirit Description: The temperament to embrace a single and only lord. The opposite of Nature of a Rebellious Spirit, this skill indicates a Servant's loyalty towards her Master. It's an ability born from true, genuine love for one's country and leader. Negates the effect of Charisma with the same rank. Rank: A+ Effect: Not even Mental Interference of the highest rank can dissuade Saber from serving her Master. As the epitome of loyalty and honor, even the best king would be unable to persuade her in joining his ranks.
Noble Phantasms
Léitíng Jīnghún: Thunder Cry Splits the Yellow River Type: Anti-Army Rank: B Range: 40 Number of Targets: 80 Effect: A Noble Phantasm representing Saber's legend in which, as a baby, her cry was so powerful that it began to rain and the Yellow River flooded. Even as an adult, her war cries brought natural calamities to the battlefield, splitting rivers and lands apart. As a Noble Phantasm, it manifests as the ability to destroy the battlefield by yelling at the start of a fight. Upon her loud tones reaching the Heavens, all nature bows in fear to Saber's power. The heart shook, the rivers split in half, the clouds in the sky form a storm and the wind blows violently. The reach of this Noble Phantasm is only within the battlefield Saber is currently battling in, therefore empowering this Noble Phantasm in case of large scale combat. If she were to fight an entire army, this Noble Phantasm would bring natural disasters to the battlefield. It isn't an ability with enough strength to end a fight. Heroic Spirits, even those belonging to the weakest tier, aren't such cowards that a thunder or two will scare them. Instead, it's something that changes the conditions of a location so that chaos and disorder is brought to the area, not allowing organized combat and ambushes to have the same effect they would usually bring. In other words, for Saber, who is used to being always on the overwhelmed side, this Noble Phantasm is an ability that doesn't allow for large forces to fight in a decent manner, reducing her battles to one on one, honorable fights. Yī bǐ Yīqiān: Virtues of the Battered Type: Anti-Unit(Self) Rank: A++ Range: -- Number of Targets: 1 Effect: The crystallization of Saber's constant presence on the overwhelmed side of a conflict. No matter what, in every battle she led, her soldiers were always inferior in numbers. The first time, she was only a single person when the soldiers of the capital pursued her after she had killed the prince. Then, when attempting to retake the capital, she had only 800 soldiers against 50000. In the following years, the skirmishes against the Jin found her always having the inferior quantity of warriors. Later tales described Saber's situation as one where the more she was overwhelmed, the stronger Saber would grow. This Noble Phantasm manifests as a passive ability that raises Saber's parameters and overall power when more than one enemy is opposed to her. The more entities present in the enemy side, the stronger Saber becomes. Strength is irrelevant, and the only factors that matter is quantity and not the quality of the enemies. When engaged in combat against two enemies that have the intention of defeating her, three random parameters are raised by one rank. When battling three opponents, this effect becomes even more powerful, and her parameters are raised once again, and her power continues to scale in accordance to the quantity of foes. It's an absurd Noble Phantasm that forces a Servant to face Saber alone. In a one-on-one fight, Saber is already a powerful foe categorized in the high tier of Heroic Spirits. If someone attempts to overwhelm her with numbers, she will become even stronger without limits. Therefore, if faced with a Servant that can summon armies or bring forth other 'entities', Saber is the absolute worst opponent they could ever face.
Battle Information
Saber is an extremely powerful Heroic Spirit, who qualifies for every Class apart from Caster and Assassin. At a young age, she had already nearly mastered the Eighteen Weapons of Wushu: Dao, Qiang, Jian, Ji, Axe, Great Axe, Hook Sword, Trident, Ranseur, Staff, Long Spear, Club, Short staff with grip, Short Quarter staff with grip, Mace, Polepick, Baton and Meteor Hammer. She was trained by the divine sage Zhu Tong, and was gifted with supernatural strength. During her life, she drove herself over her limits, exceeding mastery and achieving perfection in mind and body. Additionally, she is a master of several martial arts and the creator of both the Eagle Claw and Xingyi Boxing styles. She is considered a master among masters, proficient enough to disarm other Heroic Spirts and defeat them through the use of pure martial arts, relying on water-like movements and lethal locks she personally invented. Under the Saber-Class, she wields a Jian, a double-edged sword referred to as 'The Gentlemen of Weapons'. Unlike others of her class, she possesses neither a Holy Sword or an Enchanted Blade, though the weapon itself is a finely crafted blade. Having been summoned in her homeland of China, where she is venerated as a great hero and the epitome of loyalty, she gains the highest amount of reputation possible within the Grail War.
