About Me

About Me I've only been a fan of the otaku culture officially when I watched Death Note in March 2013. Before that, I had only seen Sword Art Online just after it aired, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in dubbed back in 2011. I had obviously seen some Naruto, Bleach, Pokemon and Dragonball Z on TV when I was younger but didn't pay much attention. There was one anime, Higurashi, that I watched when i was at a friends so that could be considered my first but I never finished it, so never mind. Now I watch way too much anime (or try to). I try to watch as much anime airing each season as I can and while doing that I also catch up on passed shows that I have missed. My favourite genre is action/adventure shonen, with Slice of Life a close second. I also really love romance. I'll watch pretty much all genres of anime however I'm not a big fan of mecha - don't know why, just can't get into it. When I watch an anime, the openings and endings are as big a part of the experience as the anime itself as I'm a huge music fan, which I'll tell you about below. I love most types of anime characters, my favourites being tsunderes and shonen main characters. I don't like main characters that think they're they best the can be and dismiss all help (Ichigo) though and some blank faced lolis annoy me. I read quite a bit of manga but most of it is continuation from anime that have finished/stopped airing. I really need to read more. I'm a very, very big music fan, even more than I am of anime. I listen to literally everything from Gregorian chants to electronic music and everything in between, though my taste usual lies in metal music - all forms of it. I'm also a really big classical and folk music listener so metal bands that combine all these genres together is what I mainly listen to. I also listen to a lot of Japanese music - Idol pop to death metal. I don't hate Western pop; I just seek music that requires artistic talent and musicianship and pop doesn't give me that with it's dance focused, studio produced, overly sexualised music. I'm a big gamer and though I mainly play on Xbox Live or Wii U, I do have a Steam account and you can add both down below if you want. I also have a 3DS and am always looking for people to battle/trade with on Pokemon games so add me on there too!
