GENRE WEEK: Guidelines

I immensely enjoy anime, and I love watching it whenever I can, but sometimes, I just don't watch it at the speed I would like to, and I end up watching anime that is too scattered from the previous anime I've watched, so I decided to come up with a way that I can watch anime more quickly, and more efficiently. This may help others out there too! It's called: Genre Week! What is genre week? Genre week is your personal week to give yourself the challenge of watching more anime in a smaller time frame, especially for people who watch anime at a slower pace. Rather than getting one-person recommendations, or none at all, you get the public opinion in Genre Week by choosing a genre of your choice, and the public will give you their top three anime from that genre, the three that get the most votes will be your shows to watch for that week! At the end of the week, you are able to choose which show you liked the most out of the three, and also allow yourself to feel accomplished after the week is over, it's fun to share with friends, and even your enemies on Tumblr, YouTube, Facebook, Blogs, MAL, etc! Genre Week is all about you, so you get to make the rules! Here are some things to keep in mind: - Make sure to pick a week with plenty of time to watch anime. - Pick a genre of anime (action, horror, sci-fi, slice of life, romance) be as specific as you wish, as there are many genres and countless amounts of anime that people can choose from! - Once you get a genre of anime, get the public opinion, whether it be through forum posts, surveys, etc. Ask them what their top three MAX what their favorites are from that genre. - The three anime that get the most votes will be your genre picks for the week. ** When you are informing the audience about your genre for the week, make sure you know your limits of how much you can watch and make sure that you would be able to at least finish three within the week. I recommend telling the audience to keep all three choices to at least a max at around 13 episodes each. If you want to give yourself a challenge, you can have two 13 max, and maybe one 24 episode. It's up to you on how you want to conduct your genre week. ** Also remember to keep track of what you've watched and what you've watched for Genre Week, as you will need to inform people of what you've watched already, so that they do not vote for something you've already watched. Getting input from the audience You can get input however you want, for as long as you want, until your week begins, make sure you plan in time for this. You can use forums, or even surveys as a way of getting input from the audience. For surveys, make sure you are clear in the title and the description: ----- Welcome to Genre Week! You are currently voting for [your name/username], this week, their genre is [genre here]! Tell us your top three favorite anime from this category below. Make sure you've read the rules from the original poster so that you know what to put in the boxes below. ----- Making the rules for GW is completely up to you, and you can conduct it any way you want, and also get input from anywhere. There are NO strict rules as to how to conduct YOUR week. Conduct it how you want. ~Sepiyu
