Dareka no Manazashi - 27/02/2015
One of the most important reason I countinue to watch anime, the bond with the characters that I establish over a length of episodes, or just relating to them personally. For an anime to appeal to me, and pull me in, to the extent that I can shed tears, those shared by the characters, that is really magical feeling. Dareka is just that but without the length of time, thus this anime's only hope is to tap into feelings that I have experienced, moving away, distancing from your parents, a loss of that 'HAPPY' feeling you've convinced yourself that you always had when you were young. Loneliness and heart-break, emotions that are so mysterious that only those who have been struck by them can relate. Young people inherently know the changes that they'll be facing, first when they join Post-secondary education, and then when they accomplish they're goal of living on their own. Everything is different, from the food you now have to eat, instead of wanting to, having to, and missing that one flavor, a taste of happiness, of company, sharing sustenance with those you love the most. For me, I can't really say anything else than watch this short piece of anime, and look into yourself did you lose track of your life, in search for greatness and independence, only to find out that what you had was more than enough? Fyi, I don't think the main plot of this story is the cat, but the effect that loss has on our lives, bring us closer together, helping us realize what we really need in life, as opposed to want.
