Peach Girl was an anime that I was hesitant to watch. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I was holding it off because I didn't think the artwork was appealing to me, it seemed a little old (as expected because it was an oldish anime).
So I watched it recently and I have to say, it is exceeded my expectations. I thought it was all going to be typical shoujo randomness, but no, it tackles the true hardships of maintaining a relationships, on things such as trust, misunderstandings, hope, compassion.
I also really liked how the girl ended up with the second guy instead. It made everything way more realistic, the second guy stayed with her all this time and people do in fact grow on you, you don't just have a crush on one person forever and that love overrules everything.
The art I did end up getting used to and the characters' amazing qualities actually started to make them look beautiful by the end of the anime.
Glad I didn't skip over this one :)
